The HoR-appointed PM of the #GNS published on his social media pages that during his call with Ms. Caroline Hurndall

, the Ambassador to Libya, he discussed the military escalation by armed groups affiliated with the #GNU.

Bashaga also claimed that the discussion focused on the support of financial institutions to military operations in Tripoli, and that the UK Ambassador had stressed the need for strict measures in that regards.

The Ambassador responded that this discussion on the role of financial institutions did not take place, and that the view of the  “is unequivocal that the integrity and neutrality of Libya’s financial institutions must be maintained for the benefit of the Libyan people.”

A few hours later, #Bashagha’s post was amended and the paragraph related to financial institutions was deleted along with the link between armed groups and the Government of National Unity
